Comparing chaga
We count the mushroom extract or powder a label states per serving, whatever the pack size or the serving size, so every product sits on one scale. Chaga comes as fruiting body extract and whole mushroom powder, and each form has its own table, because someone buying one would not usually take another as a like-for-like substitute. Products that combine chaga with other ingredients are listed separately, because their price buys more than mushroom extract or powder. 1 g is our unit for comparing prices, not a dose to take: the label’s directions and a pharmacist decide that.

Only combination products for this form
The 2 products here contain chaga alongside other ingredients, so they are not ranked against single-ingredient products. Their price per dose counts the chaga only.

How we work out these prices
We count the weight of extract per serving. Where a label quotes a “whole herb equivalent” (for example “5,000 mg from a 10:1 extract”), we use the actual extract weight. Branded, standardised extracts are compared separately from unbranded ones.
